Wednesday Rehearsals -- Rock Spring Congregational Church, 5010 Little Falls Road, Arlington VA See Map Below
The Washington Balalaika Society Orchestra rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 pm. Musicians should plan to arrive no later than 7:15 to pick up music and have extra time to tune, socialize and set up.
The Church is located at the corner of Little Falls and Rock Spring Drive in Arlington, VA. We rehearse in the Social Hall, a separate building on Little Falls Road between Old Dominion Drive and Rock Spring Drive. The landmark to look for is a two-story brick building with a white sign that says, "Neighborhood House." Parking is on the street, and it is important to observe the signs designating areas where parking is permitted.
Once you have parked, walk in the driveway on the left side of Neighborhood House (there is normally a church van parked there) and enter through the double doors on your right. Turn left and go down the hallway to the large room where we rehearse.
Non-members are welcome to visit our rehearsals with prior notice. You can send a note to us to express your interest in attending.
Saturday Rehearsals
Optional orchestra rehearsals for string and wind players are scheduled many Saturday mornings from 10:00 am until Noon at the home of one of our members, to work through new material and difficult passages. Musicians are encouraged to attend these useful sessions and arrive at 9:30 for fellowship and donuts. These rehearsals are open to non-members with prior notice. It's a good idea to check with a member or send a note to learn whether or not a rehearsal is scheduled on a given Saturday, and get directions.
